Airport terminal fees are PhP750 for international departures and PhP200 for local/domestic

departures. These fees will be collected at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

>Ground Travel in Manila:

<Upon arrival in Manila>

Upon your arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (for those using Philippine Airlines), please proceed to the luggage claim area (if you have any luggage).  This also leads to the exit doors of the airport.  For more information, please check the airport website <http://www.manila-airport.net/index.cfm>

<Travel from the Airport to the Hotel>

The most convenient way of getting from the airport to the hotel is by taxi.  Directly outside the airport are queues for the various the taxi stands.   There are three kinds of taxis:

1)      Airport Shuttles(flat rate) – these charge a flat rate depending on your destination.  There is booth where you can queue for the shuttle.  From the airport to the hotel will cost approximately PhP600.00, which can be quite expensive if traveling alone. However, participants traveling together may opt to share the same shuttle.  In this way, it can be more economical.  You the driver for a receipt when you get to your destination.

2)      Metered Airport Taxi(YELLOW taxis with the car plates numbers painted in red on the car doors) – these charge a flag down rate of Php70.00 (approximately USD 1.50) with an additional Php4.00 every 300 meters.  There is a booth where you can queue for this taxi.  Getting to the hotel may cost between Php250.00 – Php500.00 depending on how heavy the traffic is.  Again, if participants are traveling together, it is more cost-effective to just share one taxi.  Make sure that the meter is turned on.  You can ask the driver for a receipt when you get to your destination.

3)      Metered Airport Taxi (ordinary) – these are usually less reliable than the yellow taxis but generally cheaper. There is no booth. The queue and waiting time to get a ride tends to be longer, however.  They charge a flag down rate of Php30.00 (approximately USD 0.63) and an additional PhP 2.00 every few hundred meters or so.

Of these options, we recommend taking either 1) Airport Shuttleor 2) Yellow Metered Airport Taxi for safety and efficiency. The ride to the hotel may take 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the flow of traffic.

Note: Please emphasize to the taxi driver that you are going to Holiday Inn Galleria Manila Hotel located beside Robinsons Galleria Mall in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.  This is because taxis mistakenly bring many guests to the Holiday Inn Galleria Manila in Malate, Manila City (nearer the airport), which is NOT where you are billeted.

<Transportation from the Hotel to the Airport>

While there are usually taxis waiting in front of the hotel, for safety and efficiency, the Central Secretariat recommends that you take a hotel car to the airport.  This costs approximately PhP1,000.00.  The cost can be shared if you are traveling to the airport with other participants.

Please inform the hotel staff at least a day before your scheduled departure that you will need a car to the airport in order to ensure that one is reserved for you.

<Transportation between the Hotel and Ateneo campus/Exhibition Spaces>

The Central Secretariat has arranged for tourist buses to ferry participants between the Hotel and the Ateneo de Manila University campus for May 28 and 29.  The same buses shall transport participants between the Hotel, Exhibition Spaces and Ateneo campus on May 30.

The buses will be at the hotel 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.  Participants coming

from the Hotel are requested to board the buses promptly in order to keep within the Program

Schedule specified.
